winter support&supervision
under the influence of plant, stone and environmental essences
After two seasons of Earth Spirit School of Belonging, I am shifting into winter break. This means darker days, deeper sleep, more time for dreaming, internal reflections, reading, going in. It can also be a time when motivation can be slowed and self reflection challenging. Cold brings on stiff joints, WINTERWORK’s intention is to help anoint the joint with bright st. johns wort oil, warming the heart and soul with a creative community under the influence of flowers.
Our focus during this time together will highlight creative projects, writing, medicine making, personal practices, utilizing flower, stone, and environmental essences to help influence and direct our creative practices. Each essence will be intentionally chosen to highlight different aspects of creativity, connection.
Example of some conversation topics: herbs for perfectionism procrastination, what helps us to stay in connection even when things feel like cold molasses, how do we move from a place of true desire vs. capitalist ambition.
WINTERWORK provides a network of community centered care that will involve monthly check-ins and plant meditations. We will be centering conversation around creative projects: you don’t have to be an “artist” or “whatever” to sign up, the definition of “creative” is whatever that means to you. Participants are encouraged to share what they are working on! This is a group to maintain a supportive light focus with a support system of energetic medicines, encouraging connection and motivation during the colder darker months of the winter season. helping to keep us spiritually and creatively engaged. Could it simply be that what is needed is the encouragement to keep connection with self and spirit? And that could be enough?
